Conversation Pieces, a collaboration with performance artist and composer Adam Overton, consisted of a gallery installation and a week-long series of workshops, Feb 13-17, 2006 at California Institute of the Arts. Workshops were geared toward exploring interpersonal communication with the conversational dimensions. The week first addressed the nature and limits of conversation and then moved to consider alternative methods of verbal and non-verbal communication. Guest lecturers included C. J. Koenig, a linguist from UCLA, Dorit Cypis, artist and mediator, Sara Roberts, artist and faculty at CalArts, Bita Sharif, energy healer and Paz Fernandez, Dyad facilitator. |
