TROCA: Brasil/US was an international art exchange initiated by Elana Mann that involved artists from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and Portland, OR, USA. Mann curated and produced the exchange in collaboration with Nan Curtis, former director of the Philip Feldman Gallery + Project Space, Pacific Northwest College of Art (PNCA), Portland, OR. In total there were eleven artists and eight PNCA students involved in this exchange. This project was made possible through generous support from PNCA and A Gentil Carioca.

In September 2005 five artists from A Gentil Carioca gallery, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, including Ernesto Neto, Laura Lima, Marcio Botner, Marssares and Thiago Rocha Pitta, traveled to Portland to mount an exhibit at PNCA. While in residency at the college, the artists installed and created artwork, mentored students and gave lectures and performed. Subsequently, in January 2007 six artists from Portland, including Bruce Conkle, David Eckard, Emily Ginsburg, MK Guth, Don Olsen and Tamsie Ringler, along with eight students from PNCA traveled to A Gentil Carioca. While in residency at A Gentil Carioca, the artists produced artwork, gave lectures and performed live artworks.
