Nine-Point Perspective: Faculty Exhibition at Scripps College

Nov. 1 to Dec. 14, 2014, Ruth Chandler Williamson Gallery, Claremont, CA

With works in the collections of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the Art Institute of Chicago, and the Smithsonian Institution; exhibitions in Tokyo, London and Paris; pieces at the Whitney Biennale and Art Basel; and residencies as far away as Kathmandu, Nepal, Scripps art faculty are active participants in the world of art. Yet their achievements have never been shown together. Williamson Gallery’s Faculty Exhibition offers a rare opportunity for visitors to examine the wide variety of perspectives from this diverse group of artists who, together, foster new generations of artists. The show will run from November 1 to December 14, 2014 with an opening reception that includes live music and light refreshments on November 1 from 7-9 p.m. This event is free and open to the public.

Ceramic sculptures, photographs, prints, books, mixed-media, motion graphics, and paintings will be featured in the exhibition. Contributing artists include Adam Davis, Ken Gonzales-Day, Julia Haft-Candell, Phung Huynh, Nancy Macko, Elana Mann, Kitty Maryatt, Susan Rankaitis, and T. Kim-Trang Tran.

The Ruth Chandler Williamson Gallery is located at Eleventh Street and Columbia Avenue. During exhibitions, the gallery is open to the public, free of charge, Wednesday through Sunday, from noon to 5 p.m.
