Elana Mann is an interdisciplinary artist based in Los Angeles, CA, USA. Mann investigates the theatrics of everyday life and the breakdown of social spaces through a variety of mediums including performance, video, installation and curatorial projects. Many of her project involve ideas of collaboration, elements of participation and methods of exchange. Her work has been exhibited, screened, and performed nationally and internationally and her projects have been reviewed in the Los Angeles Times, NPR, Artweek, O Globo, O Jornal do Brasil and Veja magazine. Mann has taught and lectured at California Institute of the Arts, Valencia, CA and is currently teaching at Scripps College, Claremont, CA. Most recently, Mann has been working on “Exchange Rate; Election 2008” an international performance exchange in response to the 2008 US presidential elections with the Los Angeles non-profit "Trade & Row."
